Stephen Finley is a Partner and Director of Mercuri Urval and leads our relationships with a range of clients in the public and private sectors in the UK, the US and Asia. He has served as MD of Mercuri Urval UK on the Board of Mercuri Urval USA, Singapore and Australia.
Stephen has experience across a range of sectors but has a particular focus on Technology and Financial Services firms. Typical clients are firms experiencing high growth and or transformation in how they create value. Stephen's work focuses on the acquisition and assessment of senior executives and the leadership of transformation programmes with a focus on identifying people with diverse perspectives.
Throughout his career, Stephen has led people and managed change in some challenging environments. This has reinforced Stephen's belief that the right people in an effective team have different interests and first-hand experience of the needs and expectations of their customer/consumer groups.
Stephen was educated in South Africa, Algeria, Portugal and the UK and being interested getting leadership experience early in his career served as an Officer in the British Army for 5 years. His educational experiences are varied and relevant with a BSc in Construction Economics, completing two years of the Henley Business School MBA and in 2019 the Oxford University Said Business School programme in Financial Technology. Stephen has been married to Rosemarie for 33 years and they have two adult children. In his spare time Stephen likes to be active and runs and cycles regularly. He also keeps bees and helps look after two ageing welsh mountain ponies.
