Christian Schaffenberger has been with MU since 2001 and is based in Zurich/Switzerland. In his senior role, he is responsible for the Board & Executive Search in Switzerland. In addition, he is the Global Head of MU’s Board & CEO Practice. Over the years Christian has had several roles on MU Group level, working as an expert focused on C-level in Executive Search. Christian is an MU Partner and works with clients in MU’s global Board and CEO Expert Practice in Switzerland and worldwide with multinationals, private companies as well as foundations and is thereby himself specialized in the fields of the industrial sector (including Property/Construction) Retail and Aviation.
Prior to joining Mercuri Urval, Christian worked for 13 years with the former Swiss Airline «Swissair», having had several management functions in Sales & Marketing.
Christian is a member of several business networks, including Rotary International, and uses these opportunities to build his extensive Board and CEO network. He has further brought the Women’s Board Award to Switzerland, honouring women who have the potential to become Chair of a Board.
Christian graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration at L' Orange Institute Zurich, having achieved and passed many management / Leadership Seminars. Being well networked in the Swiss sports world and as a passionate single handicap Golfer he also is organizing Golf Charity events to support young sports talent who are on their way to the top.
