Mieke Weijenberg, located in Amsterdam, is the Global Head of MU’s Board & CEO Practice and is also a member of the MU Group Board. In addition to her role as Global Practice Head and Board Member, she was appointed Partner in Mercuri Urval in 2018. She works with clients in Mid-Cap and SME companies (family businesses, private firms) in the Netherlands and worldwide, on Leadership Acquisition and -Advisory and Board Development. She is an ICF registered Coach and a certified Commissioner and has coached many executives and senior managers.
Mieke is active in building long-term relations with people and has developed a strong international network on Board & C-level. She worked as a Global Sector Leader in Retail & Consumer and also specialised in the field of Industrial sector (including Construction), Sports, and Leisure. She is responsible for several large clients and works with many international colleagues.
Prior to joining Mercuri Urval in 2004, Mieke worked for 15 years active in sales and marketing management positions with international B2C/B2B/ Business Services organizations like Rothmans Tobacco Company, Initial, and Huhtamaki and worked as a freelancer in management positions.
Mieke graduated in Commercial Economics (Bachelor of Marketing) at the HEAO Arnhem and successfully followed courses in Sales, Coaching (International Coach Federation), Strategic leadership, Commissioner (Governance University), and E-Commerce. Mieke played several sports at a high level, like field hockey, tennis, and now a single handicap in golf. She has previously served as a member of the Board of a Field hockey club and is a member of the Dutch Top-Woman network.
