MU France Celebrates 45 Years - Meet one of our long-standing clients - Sia Abrasives

In 2026, MU France is celebrating 45 Years of team-based impact and collective success.

During this time, we have been privileged to partner with thousands of SMEs and large corporations, tackling their most strategic challenges in recruitment and leadership.

Our story began 45 years ago, when Håkan Skoglund arrived from Sweden, fueled by a sharp vision and a commitment to build a dedicated and diverse team in France. Since then, we have established a formidable reputation among our clients and have consistently delivered exceptional results, supporting our dear clients in getting better performance.

We are proud to share more about our long-standing cooperation with Sia Abrasives:

Supporting the Transformation of a Historic Brand into the Future

Sia Abrasives, part of the Bosch Group since 2008, stands as a global benchmark in surface finishing solutions. With more than 150 years of expertise and a presence in over 80 countries, the company relies on a network of 1,400 employees worldwide. From its historic headquarters in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, the brand continues to drive innovation and industrial excellence. Its full integration into Robert Bosch France on the Saint‑Ouen site in France in 2022 further strengthened its role within one of the world’s most respected industrial groups.

Market Reality and Challenges

Operating in a mature and increasingly competitive market, Sia Abrasives aims to accelerate growth, increase its market share in France, and strengthen the visibility of the Sia brand. The strong reputation of Bosch is a strategic asset, offering privileged access to certain customers and distribution channels—combining long‑standing craftsmanship with global industrial credibility. Yet the company faces major structural shifts: rapid technological evolution, heightened productivity demands, and the emergence of new competitors that do not always comply with industry standards. Like many industrial players, Sia Abrasives must also navigate an intensifying challenge — attracting and retaining talent, particularly younger generations less inclined toward industrial environments. Beyond headcount, the company seeks to diversify its workforce by recruiting more commercially driven “hunter‑type” profiles and progressively increasing gender diversity in roles traditionally dominated by men.

MU: A Close and Enduring Partnership

It is within this context that Sia Abrasives turned to MU to support its organisational evolution. MU’s approach is based on close partnership, active listening, and an in‑depth understanding of the company’s culture and market dynamics. Rather than isolated actions, MU offered a long‑term, collaborative presence, combining strategic recruitment with personalised coaching and talent development. MU has played a key role in identifying rare and highly specialised profiles, such as Key Account Managers in niche sectors and candidates in regions where the talent pool is limited. Through rigorous assessments, careful selection, and a one‑year post‑recruitment follow‑up, MU ensured seamless integration and long‑term contribution of new hires to the company’s growth trajectory. The entire assignment was conducted by a committed team of MU France experts.

MU Differentiators and Impact

Sia Abrasives highlights several strengths of the collaboration: MU’s high availability, the accuracy of the profiles presented, the consultants’ ability to anticipate emerging needs, and the quality of the coaching program. While the partnership did not aim to deliver radical organisational changes, its impact has been concrete and visible—helping teams evolve, building new capabilities, and supporting the company’s strategic ambitions.

Looking ahead, Sia Abrasives anticipates a growing need for strategic Key Account Managers as well as digital marketing specialists to reinforce brand presence and commercial performance. Recruitment efforts will be aligned with business results, but one certainty remains: strengthening these capabilities will be essential to support future growth and ensure long‑term competitiveness.

MU remains a strategic asset in this ongoing transformation and business development journey.
