I THINK WE ARE INCREDIBLY UNIQUE AS A COMPANY. WE CAN TRULY WORK INTERNATIONALLY AND PUT TOGETHER A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS TO FULFIL VERY SPECIFIC NEEDS.
THIS CASE WAS A SELECTION PROJECT FOR A GLOBAL COMPANY; THEY NEEDED SOMEONE TO BE THE HEAD OF THEIR APAC OPERATIONS. THEY WANTED A SECOND OPINION ON THE CANDIDATES THEY CHOSE THEMSELVES: A US CITIZEN BASED IN SHANGHAI- CANDIDATE, A BUSINESS AREA MANAGER IN KUALA LUMPUR, A CANDIDATE FROM SOUTH AMERICAN IN SAO PAULO, AND A STOCKHOLM-BASED CANDIDATE, WHO WANTED TO RETURN TO ASIA
THE TIMING FOR THESE ASSESSMENTS WASN’T PERFECT: IT WAS ONE WEEK BEFORE SUMMER VACATION IN EUROPE. WE NEEDED TO UNDERSTAND THE PRECISE ANALYSIS OF THE SITUATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITIONS. WE EMBARKED ON A SERIES OF MEETINGS TO SET THE SUCCESS CRITERIA FOR THE JOB AND UNDERSTAND THE STRATEGY OF THE COMPANY. WE HAD TO KNOW WHAT THEY REALLY WANTED TO ACHIEVE IN APAC AND THROUGH THEIR NEW ORGANISATION IN SHANGHAI. THAT MEANT WE HAD TO DIG INTO THE TRACK RECORD, WHAT THEY ACHIEVED, AND HOW THEY SHOULD DEVELOP THE ROLE ACCORDING TO THE STRATEGY.
WITHIN A FEW DAYS, WE – A TEAM OF 4 CONSULTANTS BASED ON 3 CONTINENTS - MET THE NEEDS OF THE CLIENTS. WE DESCRIBED EACH CANDIDATE TO THEM IN DETAIL. AS INTERNAL CANDIDATES, THEY WERE ALREADY IN THE ORGANISATION, SO WE COULD DO A PREDICTIVE ANALYSIS ON THEM, EXPLORING WHERE THEY CAME FROM, THEIR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES, AND THEIR FUTURE POTENTIAL
WE CAME UP WITH A CLEAR RECOMMENDATION TO FIT THE ROLE AND WORK WITH THE STRATEGY GOING FORWARD. THE PERSON THAT WE RECOMMENDED WAS ABLE TO WORK WITH THE TEAM AND WAS SUCCESSFUL IN THE POSITION IMMEDIATELY AND ALSO IN THE LONGER TERM, AND WE ARE STILL WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE CLIENT.
