Leading role in ensuring safety, sustainability and incident management

Key position in ensuring vessel safety, compliance to and continuous optimization of the QMS-system and regulations and incident management. Translating developments and new legislation into optimized and new procedures and processes. Leading the QMS department, advising management and close collaboration with various disciplines. Many internal and external contacts. 

In this position, you are the driving force behind ensuring safe, sustainable and cost-effective fleet operations and maintaining and enhancing the QMS system and manuals. You ensure compliance with all international, statutory, class, and local regulations by managing audits and ensuring that all vessels have valid flag-state, class, IMO and MARPOL-required certificates. You develop and implement procedures and advise management on QHSE-issues. Being the DPA, you take care of investigating incidents, taking corrective actions and ensuring proper reporting. You guide and manage the Marine Superintendents, DPA Italy, Fleet Team Operators and the RFMO Compliance Officer (8 p.)

Seatrade is looking for a strong, structured, stress resistant and flexible manager, who combines his expertise in QHSE and working at sea with a collaborative mindset and problem-solving focus. Your profile: 

  • Relevant maritime education, preferably on a bachelor’s level.
  • Management experience at sea, a QHSE department or comparable. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with regulations that enhance safety at sea.
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility to be available 24/7 for emergencies.
  • Good communication skills in at least English; Dutch is a plus.
  • Living in or willingness to move to the Groningen region.
