Susanna Koutonen is a Consultant at MU, based in the northernmost office in Oulu, Finland. She supports clients across Northern Finland, Northern Sweden, Ostrobothnia, and Kainuu in strategic advisory, leadership development, and governance excellence.
With an extensive background in the HoReCa and service industries, Susanna brings deep insight into customer-driven business models and operational leadership. She has more than a decade of executive experience leading organisations through growth and transformation and is passionate about helping companies strengthen their leadership and board performance to achieve sustainable results.
Before joining MU, Susanna served as the Executive Director of the Northern Finland Board Partners Association, working with a wide range of companies to enhance board effectiveness and governance practices. Earlier, she held CEO positions in both tourism and real estate companies and has a long track record as a result-responsible leader in sales, marketing, and business development.
Susanna holds a degree in international business and foreign trade and has further strengthened her expertise through studies in human resource management. She is a Certified Board Member (HHJ), Certified Board Chair (HHJ PJ), and Certified Advisor, and actively contributes to Chamber of Commerce board training programs as a chairperson and expert.
