Florian Schmitz joined MU in 2016, since 2021 he is part of the Dresden team. As Practice Lead Consumer, he is responsible for MU's consumer goods business. His focus is on Executive Search & Leadership Advisory.
As a consultant, Florian Schmitz works primarily with companies in the food and non-food industry. Here he has numerous reference mandates for the search, selection, and development of executives at middle and top level (C-Level). His clients particularly include medium-sized manufacturing companies in transformation - the cases range from succession planning, the development of new business fields, internationalisation to restructuring projects.
A second focus of his consultancy work is executive search for Public Sector clients, particularly in local and federal state administrations and their affiliated companies. Here, a particular focus is on the digital transformation of administration/e-government.
Florian Schmitz studied history, law and European studies in Bielefeld, Leuven (Belgium) and Bern (Switzerland). He holds a Master's degree from the University of Bern and KU Leuven. He speaks German and English fluently.
Further, Florian Schmitz is a member of the supervisory board of a local retail chain (VG Verbrauchergemeinschaft Dresden). As a volunteer, he has been organising the Chamisso-Preis Dresden since 2019, a literary award for authors writing in German without it being their mother tongue often with a migrant perspective.
